The Ultimate Goal of Believers

As followers of Christ, our ultimate goal and purpose should be to seek the things that are above, in heaven, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. This means aligning our thoughts, actions, and desires with the heavenly realm, where true life and fulfillment are found.

We must recognize that there is no substitute for living our lives as devoted followers of Christ. His teachings and example provide the roadmap for a life that is both meaningful and purposeful. There is no room for compromise or negotiation when it comes to the principles and values that He has set forth.

While we wait for His return, we must diligently follow His instructions and strive to live holy and blameless lives. We are called to be His representatives on earth, reflecting His character and love to those around us.

Let us never devalue or disregard any of the instructions that He has given us. These are not mere suggestions, but divine directives that are essential for our spiritual growth and maturity. By adhering to His teachings, we prepare ourselves to stand before Him in glory when He returns.


In the pursuit of eternal life and gazing at things above, we must detach ourselves from the fleeting pleasures and transient gains of this earthly realm. Instead, we must fix our gaze upon the everlasting treasures of heaven, where Christ reigns supreme. To achieve this willingly, we must embark on a journey of spiritual transformation, aligning our thoughts, actions, and desires with the principles of Christ.

First and foremost, we must cultivate a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, recognizing Him as our Lord and Savior. This faith serves as the foundation upon which we build our spiritual lives, guiding our steps toward heaven.

Next, we must embrace the virtues of love, compassion, and humility, embodying the essence of Christ's teachings. These virtues serve as a beacon of light, illuminating our path and attracting others to the transformative power of the gospel.

Furthermore, we must diligently study the scriptures, delving into the wisdom and guidance they offer. Through this immersion in God's word, we gain a deeper understanding of His will and align our lives accordingly.

Additionally, we must engage in regular prayer and worship, communing with God and seeking His presence in our lives. Prayer provides a channel of communication with the divine, fostering a relationship that strengthens our faith and bolsters our resolve.

Finally, we must actively participate in the life of the church, surrounding ourselves with fellow believers who share our commitment to Christ. This fellowship provides encouragement, support, and a sense of community, further enriching our spiritual journey.

By embracing these steps with unwavering dedication, we willingly embark on the path toward eternal life, aligning our lives with the will of Christ and setting our sights on the everlasting treasures that await us in heaven.

True fulfillment lies not in fleeting earthly pleasures or transient worldly gains, but in the pursuit of eternal and lasting treasures. Let us fix our gaze upon the heavenly realm, where Christ reigns supreme, and align our lives with His will, bringing glory to His name.
